Custom made FFC ribbons for the SYF Mainboards - no more messy wire installation, this is so far the cleanest way to install a LCD kit!
SYF Mainboard v1.x - options are compatible with SYF Mainboard version v1.2 v1.5, v1.6, v1.7 and v1.8
SYF Mainboard v2.x - options are compatible with SYF Mainboard version 2.0
SYF Mainboard v2.x - BennVenn GGHD (VA0/1) variant can be used for BennVenn GGHD rev 3 and 4 and later with FFC connector. You can recognize it since there are no solder pads on the BennVenn board.
- Simply connect the both sides to the FFC connectors of the BennVenn and SYF boards
- 5V, I/O, GND pads are to connect the touch sensor
- TP1, TP2, TP3 pads are for enabling future options, just leave them untouched
SYF Mainboard v2.x - BennVenn GGSD (VA4/5) variant can be used for BennVenn GGSD VA4/5 revision.
- Overlay the ribbon with the pads on the BennVenn board
- Solder the pads one-by-one
- For default scaling mode stretch to window, bridge the center and left pad
- For default scaling mode horizontal integer stretch, bridge the center and right pad
SYF Mainboard v2.x - SYF RetroSix Cleanscreen v3.1 variant can be used for RetroSix Cleanscreen v3.1.x - ensure you have the right revision matching your ASIC (VA0/1 or VA4/5)
- Simply connect the both sides to the FFC connectors of the Cleanscreen and SYF boards
SYF Mainboard v1.x - BennVenn GGHD variant can be used for BennVenn GGHD rev 3 and 4 and later with FFC connector. You can recognize it since there are no solder pads on the BennVenn board.
- Simply connect the both sides to the FFC connectors of the BennVenn and SYF boards
- 5V, I/O, GND pads are to connect the touch sensor
- TP1, TP2, TP3 pads are for enabling future options, just leave them untouched
- Replace R13 (dual-ASIC) or R24 (single-ASIC) with a 4.7k or 10k resistor.
SYF Mainboard v1.x - SYF BennVenn GGSD variant can be used for BennVenn GGSD and GGHD Rev 1 & 2.
- Overlay the ribbon with the pads on the BennVenn board
- Solder the pads one-by-one
- For default scaling mode stretch to window, bridge the center and left pad
- For default scaling mode horizontal integer stretch, bridge the center and right pad
SYF Mainboard v1.x - SYF RetroSix Cleanscreen v3.1 variant can be used for RetroSix Cleanscreen v3.1.x
- Cut the 2 ribbons apart using scissors
- Remove C59, C60, C61, C62 from dual-ASIC mainboard
- Remove C22, C23, C24, C25 from single-ASIC mainboard
- Simply connect the both sides to the FFC connectors of the Cleanscreen and SYF boards
- Bridge LEFT and UP in case you want to use UP instead of LEFT, or
- Connect LEFT with BTL at the test pads below the cartridge connector
- Connect middle pad of D4 and D5 to ground or 5v if needed (see manual Cleanscreen)
Note: LCD kit is not included
